Where Numbers Tell Real Stories

We started olivarexon back in 2019 because we noticed something odd. Most financial education felt disconnected from actual market behaviour. People were learning formulas without understanding the companies behind them.

Here's what we believe: fundamental analysis isn't about memorising ratios. It's about reading between the lines of financial statements and understanding what businesses actually do. When you look at a balance sheet, you should see decisions, not just numbers.

Our programmes focus on the Australian market because that's what we know best. Local context matters when you're analysing companies. What works for tech stocks in Sydney behaves differently from mining operations in Perth.

Our Approach to Teaching

We don't promise shortcuts. Financial analysis takes time to learn properly, and anyone who says otherwise is being dishonest.

What we do offer is a structured path through the complexity. Our courses start with cash flow statements because that's where the real story often hides. Revenue can be manipulated, but cash movements are harder to disguise.

Students work with actual ASX-listed company reports. Not simplified examples, but real documents with all their messy footnotes and accounting adjustments. That's where learning happens.

We update our materials quarterly to reflect current market conditions. What mattered in 2023 might not apply in 2025, especially with changing interest rate environments and regulatory shifts.

How We Structure Learning

Financial education should build on itself. Each concept connects to the next, creating a framework you can actually use when reviewing investment opportunities.

Real Company Case Studies

Every module includes analysis of Australian companies across different sectors. You'll see how retail businesses differ from resource companies, and why banking fundamentals require their own approach. We use both successful and struggling companies, because understanding failures teaches as much as examining successes.

Interactive Analysis Sessions

Twice monthly, we run live sessions where students analyse a company together. Someone proposes a thesis, others challenge assumptions, and we dig into the numbers as a group. These sessions happen online and recordings are available for participants in different time zones.

Building Your Analysis Framework

By the end of our programme, you'll have developed your own checklist for evaluating companies. Not our checklist imposed on you, but a personalised approach that matches how you think about businesses. Some people focus heavily on management quality, others prioritise balance sheet strength. Both can work if applied consistently.

Who's Teaching This

Our lead instructor has been analysing Australian equities since 2011. Before starting olivarexon, he worked in equity research for a mid-sized investment firm and managed portfolios for high net worth clients. He's seen multiple market cycles and learned from plenty of mistakes along the way.

Portrait of Stellan Bergqvist

Stellan Bergqvist

Lead Instructor & Founder

Stellan spent seven years at an institutional investment firm before launching olivarexon. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and is a CFA charterholder. What sets his teaching apart is the focus on practical application over theoretical perfection. He regularly shares his own analysis mistakes during sessions, showing students how to identify flawed reasoning before it costs money. Outside of finance, he's deeply interested in industrial history and how past business cycles inform current market behaviour.

Our next comprehensive programme begins in September 2025. It runs for six months with flexible scheduling to accommodate working professionals. If you're considering joining, reach out and we can discuss whether the timing and structure suit your learning goals.
